Proud Sister

I am proud to call this big goofball my brother.  I have been amazed by all that he has accomplished this year! At one time in his life, he was so incredibly shy that he would cry whenever anyone tried to talk to him.  Now, he currently serves as the Student Body President and speaks in front of the entire school routinely.

Jason not only won the student body election this year, but he has accomplished great feats in his basketball career.   He is a captain on his team and starts as a forward.  This season, he has averaged 20 points.  Yes.  That zero was meant to be next to that 2.  No typos over here.  The years of shooting free throws everyday in the gym have paid off.

Even though I'm a couple years older than this stud (really though...can I meet someone this good looking that I'm not related to?? Please and thank you), he has always been one of my greatest role models.  I'm grateful for his example of a worthy priesthood holder, and I know that he will do great things!

Still Alive!

First off, sorry for the looooong break between posts.  I am in college now (at Brigham Young University...and yes it is the best university on Earth. And no I am not the least bit biased or anything), and things have been pretty busy lately! Finals are next week, and I should be studying right now.  That's clearly not happening though, so here I am! Catching up on the bloggety blog (this is kind of productive right?) Anyway, the first thing you need to know about are my AMAZING roomies.  They are all fantastic!

They're total babes, amiright?  From late night dance parties, BYU football games, belting Mariah Carey, and spending endless amounts of time talking about boys when we should be doing homework (I promise Mom, I really do work on homework sometimes), they've become some of my very best friends.

The second thing you need to know about college life has a lot to do with this:

Life's hard, but it's an open book test.  I'm so grateful to have this book to guide me in my life.  It makes studying, working hard, and making friends all beyond worthwhile.  I love the Book of Mormon! I love BYU! I love this Freshman year! And anyone who is currently reading this blog:) I definitely love you too:)

Happy birthday!

This last week has been too much fun! It all started with a crazy nerve wracking solo for a trek fireside. The song I performed was written by the 2nd counselor in the bishopric, Brother Reynolds. It was an absolutely gorgeous arrangement, and I was thrilled to sing it. The only downside was the huge spot on my dress from last Sunday's Top Ramen (second picture below). It doesn't look huge, but oh believe me, it was!! Watch out for that Ramen...it can do some pretty low things if you catch my drift. We also held a surprise party for my friend, Amber, and Jeanette baked a cake for the occasion. Celestial bliss is hardly a good enough description for that cake. It was divine (third picture below). Last but not least, we celebrated the Fourth of July this week. The day was filled with parades and some amazing fireworks. However, I was lame and forgot to take pictures of any of it. Therefore, the selfie Ryan and I took in the car will have to suffice (first picture below). I'm beyond grateful to live in such a great nation, and beyond that, such a great community.  I live among some unbelievably talented people who I am so blessed to call my friends and family. Looking forward to finding out how the rest of this summer adventure will unfold!:)

Fun Summer Day

These last few days have been far too much fun! Yesterday started and ended with a bang. I got to spend the morning with these cute girl (pictured below). Then today, I got to have dinner at a place called Gourmandise with my extended family. They had strawberry cheesecake so I was a happy camper:) Loving these fun summer days!

Operation Legendary

There is an explanation for these pictures folks.
We went to watch How to Train Your Dragon 2, and ended up getting a lot more than we had originally bargained for! After the movie, we all got Frostys from Wendy's. Since this was Mary's first night in the forms we decided to buy one for her too and give her a visit.
Then the three amigos commenced with Operation Legendary. After chatting with Mary, we decided it would be a dandy idea to give the poor stop hand a high five. Afterwards, we all decided that a trip to the powder room was necessary. The only place open late enough was Walmart, where Jeanette had a hay day with the carts. So grateful for fun and amazing friends!!:)

Summer Bucketlist!

Yesterday I realized it was midsummer and there's still so much to do! Therefore I decided to create a summer Bucketlist of things I want to complete before the summer is over. Here it is!
1. Watch popular television series as to better understand all the hype (Downton Abbey, Psych, possibly Sherlock)
2.  Clean (and I mean really clean) my room.
3.  Get family scripture study up and running again.
4. Do a super hard cleaning project (basement, garage, or both).
5. Read some law/history books.
6. Prepare better for a mission.

I'm sure I'll think of more but that's a start folks!  Enjoy this lovely picture of my brothers. Aren't they handsome?;)

All my love,

Kim
