"A few weeks ago, I watched Anastasia. At the beginning of the movie, Anastasia is instructed to leave the orphanage to work in a fish factory. As she starts the long journey, she comes to a fork in the road. She can either go down the road to the fish factory, or take the road that leads to Paris, where (unbeknownst to her) her family and ultimately, happiness may lie. She is stumped. She has no idea what choice to make. Soon, she throws her voice upward. She asks for a sign. At that moment, a dog steals her scarf and runs down the road to Russia. Angrily, Anastasia chases after him. She doesn't realize that this is her sign until she finally gets her scarf back halfway down the road. I think that maybe I am like that too. In fact, maybe we all are. Maybe we just don't realize that we have our sign, until we have already had it for awhile."
Wasn't I a smart tike? Anyway, I was so grateful to find this! I think I've been waiting for some cosmic, lighted sign to tell me what to do and where to go. But, perhaps, instead, first I need to walk down a path for awhile before I truly know what is right for me.
Right now, my path will include a semester of college at BYU, a mission, and then hopefully a law degree somewhere down the line. I don't know quite yet if this is the right path for me, but I am going to start walking it. One step at a time.
All my love,
Kim
